Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, violinist Lynn Kuo has earned accolades and praise for "her impeccable playing and tasteful phrasing." An Eaton Graduate Fellow at the University of Toronto, Lynn studied under the tutelage of Lorand Fenyves. In 2003, Lynn won the Second Prize at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Competition, and has also been the winner of top prizes in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition, Quebec Symphony Orchestra Canadian Concerto Competition, the Atlantic Young Artist Competition, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Association String Competition, the National Music Festival, the Canadian Music Competitions, the Musicorda Concerto Competition, the University of Toronto Concerto Competition, and the Debut Young Concert Artist Series auditions.

Lynn has appeared as soloist with orchestras such as the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, the University of Toronto Chamber Orchestra, the Brandon Chamber Players, the Canadian Sinfonietta, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra (Bulgaria). She has been a frequent guest soloist with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra - for which she has appeared as both pianist and violinist - and has also toured Wales, UK as soloist with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Displaying versatility in a wide range of musical styles from the Baroque to the contemporary, her solo and chamber music appearances have garnered critical acclaim in her recital tours across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Her performances have been featured on CBC Radio's Musicraft, Take Five, and Music Around Us, Two New Hours as well as Serbian and Romanian national radio and television broadcasts.

A champion of new music, both acoustic and electroacoustic, Lynn has given world premieres of compositions written for and dedicated to her by Canadian composers Michael Pepa, Dennis Patrick, Daniel Foley, Elizabeth Raum and American composer Katarina Miljković. In 2005, Lynn embarked on a solo concert tour of Balkan Europe featuring the music of Canadian composer, Michael Pepa. Performing solo recitals throughout Serbia and Romania, Lynn also appeared as soloist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra of Pernik, Bulgaria.

Returning for re-engagements in April, 2007, Lynn headed the Les AMIS Ensemble with Artistic Director Michael Pepa, Rachel Mercer, cello; Marianna Humetska, piano; Lori Freedman, bass clarinet; and Joseph Macerollo, accordion. The Les AMIS Ensemble will represent Canada at the 24th Music Biennale Zagreb held in Zagreb, Croatia as well as in concerts in Serbia, Austria, and Hungary.

An enthusiastic chamber musician, Lynn has performed at the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, the University of Toronto New Music Festival, the soundaXis Festival, and has also collaborated with such prominent artists such as Christoph Eschenbach, the Gryphon Trio, Steven Dann, Patrick Gallois, and Hilario Durán.

Currently based in Toronto, Ontario, Lynn plays with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Opera Company and currently holds the title of Assistant Concertmaster of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra. In addition to performing, Lynn has been a guest lecturer and teacher at Canadian universities and teaches privately.
